Description
Very pleasant half-timbered house surrounded by a fenced yard with garden; barbecue. On the main floor, the living room has a large working fireplace, two large south facing windows, an oval walnut table seating eight, cane furniture in the sitting area, stereo and TV. The separate kitchen is well equipped with built-in oak cabinets, dishwasher, washing machine, refrigerator, stove with four gas burners and a conventional oven, microwave and all the dishes and utensils necessary for an enjoyable stay. The bedroom on this floor has a double bed and en suite bathroom.
The second floor has two bedrooms, one with a double bed and another one with three single beds and an extra folding bed. Bathroom with shower and separate toilet. Linens provided, including beautiful collector’s linen bed sheets. Pets OK. Electric heat. Wood provided.

Nearby Attractions
The long, fine sand beach is only 350 meters, —about 1000 feet— from the house. Less than ¼ of a mile away is a hamlet with bakery and main staples available. The nearby Plage de Barneville offers fine sand and boat trips to Jersey and other Channel Islands.
The village of Barneville-Carteret, about one kilometer, 2/3 of a mile away, has a post office, a well-known local restaurant, public swimming pool, and a variety of small shops. Barneville is on the Cotentin peninsula with long sandy beaches and windswept promontories such as Cap de la Hague and Nez de Jobourg. The strategic naval port of Cherbourg and the attractive old town of Coutances are an easy driving distance. So are landmarks of WWII such as the landing beaches and the first liberated village, Ste. Mére Eglise.
