Description
Situated on the exclusive Île Saint-Louis in the heart of Paris, this quiet, comfortable studio apartment is in a small, well maintained 18th century building on the main street of the island. A winding wooden staircase leads to the door of this second-floor apartment. Expertly remodeled to preserve its visible historic roots while providing modern amenities, the 325 square foot space includes a separate bath, open kitchenette and a mezzanine area sleeping two. Air conditioning, a rarity in Paris, ensures a comfortable stay during the summer's hotter months. The prestigious central location allows for easy access to all Paris has to offer.
The main room, with tall Parisian-style windows overlooking a quiet courtyard, features a comfortable sofa, flat screen TV, and small dining table seating four. The comfortable king size bed, easily separated into two twins, is draped with a colorful fabric canopy and fabric headboard. Centuries-old wood beams adorn the ceiling. The open kitchen is fully equipped with refrigerator, electric burners, dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker, and all the cookware and dishes one needs for a pleasant stay. Ladder-like stairs lead to the mezzanine level where there are two cozy twin beds and convenient built-in storage under a rustic exposed beamed ceiling. Adjacent to the kitchen there is a bathroom with marble tiled tub with glass shower enclosure, sink, toilet, washing machine and hair dryer. Local phone access is included.

Enjoy being in the center of things without the hectic crowds---the banks of the Seine along Île Saint-Louis are among the most quiet and romantic spots in all of Paris. Originally two smaller islands, they were joined by a major construction project in the 17th century, the same era when the many existing stately mansions were built. Within steps of the apartment there is a bakery, small shop, a cheese store, and the famous Bertillon ice cream shop right across the street. A one-minute walk takes you to a convenient mini-supermarket open till midnight. Trendy restaurants abound in the neighborhood along with antique shops, markets, bakeries, fromageries, and cafés. One can easily access the other famous Parisian island, Ile de La Cité across the Pont St. Louis. Explore Paris historical roots including Notre Dame, Sainte Chapelle, and Gallo-Roman ruins in the Crypte Archéologique.
Île Saint-Louis is a short walk to both the Left and Right Banks and beloved neighborhoods including the Latin Quarter, St. Germain-des-Prés, and Le Marais.
