Description
Recently updated, this 1,400 sq.ft L-shaped apartment is on the 5th floor of a handsome building with elevator. With high ceilings, warm colors and wainscoting, the interior is classy and inviting. An office/third bedroom is located on the street side of the building, while the two large bedrooms face a quiet courtyard.
The apartment is decorated throughout with antiques, belle époque pieces, and restored "moulures"'; decorative embossed ceilings. The sitting room has a decorative fireplace and two French doors, one to the hall and the other to the balcony. It is furnished with two couches, one opening to a double sofa bed, and equipped with cable television, stereo and DVD player. The dining room has a table seating six and a French country dresser. The office has a pull-out couch and can serve as a third bedroom if needed.
The long and narrow galley kitchen has a window at one end with a classic Parisian rooftop view. It is fully equipped with double stainless steel sink, dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer, polished granite slab counters, cherry cabinetry, and gas stove with vent, five burners and a full sized oven.
The main bedroom has twin beds that can be used together as a king size bed, bedside tables, chest of drawers and large wardrobe. The second bedroom has a king size bed, armoire, and decorative white marble fireplace. Each of the two tiled bathrooms has a Jacuzzi tub, wall mounted shower, toilet, bidet, and sink. Bathrooms have excellent lighting and heated towel racks. One bathroom has double sinks; the other has a washer/dryer.
Reliable gas heat. Quality linens provided. Fans are available for summer comfort. No smoking is allowed in the apartment.
Nearby Attractions
Luxembourg Two-Bedroom is located just south of Jardins du Luxembourg, a sixty acre green oasis in the heart of the left Bank. One of Paris's most popular parks, it features the Luxembourg Palace, a large octagonal pool, formal terraces, broad avenues and many statues. There are interesting specialty shops, small cafés and lots of movie theaters in the area. A haven for artists and intellectuals, Montparnasse is the right area to find art classes or French classes at the Alliance Française on nearby Boulevard Raspail. There is a farmer's market with organic produce several times a week on Boulevard Raspail.
