Description
Recently updated, this 1,400 sq. ft. L-shaped apartment is on the 5th floor of a handsome building with elevator. With their high ceilings, warm colors and wainscoting, the rooms are classy and inviting. The office/third bedroom is on the street side, while the two large bedrooms face the quiet courtyard.
The apartment is decorated throughout with antiques, belle époque pieces, and restored "moulures", decorative embossed ceilings. The sitting room has a decorative fireplace and two French doors, one to the hall and the other to the balcony. It is furnished with two couches, one opening to a double sofa bed, as well as cable television, stereo and DVD player. The dining room has a table seating six and a French country dresser. The office has a pull-out couch and can serve as a third bedroom eventually.
The long and narrow galley kitchen has a window at one end with a classic Parisian rooftop view. It is fully equipped with double stainless steel sink, dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer, polished granite slab counters, cherry cabinetry, and gas stove with vent, five burners and oven.
The main bedroom has twin beds that can be used together as a king size bed, bedside tables, chest of drawers and large wardrobe. The second bedroom has a king size bed as well, armoire and white marble fireplace. Each of the two tiled bathrooms has a tub with Jacuzzi, shower curtains and wall mounted shower, toilet, bidet, and sink. Excellent lighting and heated towel racks. One bathroom has double sinks; the other has a washer/dryer.
Quality gas furnace. Quality linens provided. Fans are available for summer comfort. No smoking is allowed in the apartment.
Nearby Attractions
It is located just south of Jardins du Luxembourg, a sixty acre green oasis in the heart of the left Bank. One of the most popular parks, it features the Luxembourg Palace, a large octagonal pool, formal terraces, broad avenues and many statues. There are interesting specialty shops, small café theaters and lots of movie theaters in the area. An artistic and intellectual magnet, Montparnasse is the right area to find art classes or French classes at the Alliance Francaise on near-by Blvd. Raspail. Farmer's market with organic produce several times a week on Boulevard Raspail.
