Description

Located on a narrow cobblestone street winding towards the Sacré Coeur basilica, this delightful apartment truly feels like a home away from home.
Entered from a courtyard off the street, the building is well shielded from external noise and offers a wonderful sense of peace and quiet despite the liveliness of this popular neighborhood.
Three flights of stairs lead you to the 750 sq. ft. flat. The living room is large and gracious, with hardwood floors, area rugs, a spacious dining table, comfortable seating arrangements, television, and stereo.  Pretty windows open to a charming view of the rooftops over Rue St. Rustique.
Adjacent to the living room, the sleek open kitchen is fully equipped with new appliances including a washing machine, dryer and dishwasher.
Down the hall are the two bedrooms, each equipped with a queen size bed. Large French windows in both rooms overlook a beautiful park-like yard, your own secret refuge in the city.  The attractive full bathroom has a tub with wall-hung shower, and a toilet. There is an additional toilet in a separate powder room off the kitchen.

Gas heat, telephone and fax machine, cable TV and Internet access.

Nearby Attractions

Rue St. Rustique is in the heart of old Montmartre, known for its views, its village-like atmosphere, the Sacré-Coeur basilica and Place du Tertre, still a popular rendezvous for artists. This is the neighborhood celebrated by Maurice Utrillo in many of his street scenes. "Le Consulat", very near the apartment, is one of the many restaurants still open in the area where Impressionist painters used to meet. The 2001 prize-winning movie "Amélie" was shot in the streets, parks and cafés surrounding the apartment.

The apartment overlooks a garden once painted by Van Gogh, and gives views of Les Invalides and L’Arc de Triomphe in the distance. Convenient public transportation to Gare du Nord and Charles de Gaulle airport.

We spent Christmas at Rue St. Rustique, and it seemed very much like home! This apartment, perched at the top of Montmartre is magical, with views from the windows that look down on gardens where Van Gogh and other great artists painted.

We loved the neighborhood, and the walks up the hill from the Metro stop, Abbesses, certainly made us feel like we were locals. We enjoyed shopping at all the little food stores on Rue Abbesses, and discovered quaint little restaurants by using the restauarant guides in the apt. We loved the decor (lots of art), and the furnishings were appropriate and comfortable.

We would definitely go back, and also will recommend it to our friends going to Paris.
