Description
With its refined interior and sophisticated, lively address, this exceptionally comfortable and spacious apartment is a truly delightful Parisian home away from home. Rue de Castellane is a quiet side street just a few minutes from La Madeleine church, the elegant shops on Rue St. Honoré and Rue Royale, the infamous Place de la Concorde, the Seine and its magnificent bridges, the Champs-Elysées, Tuileries Garden and Louvre museum.
The two-bedroom apartment is on the 6th floor of a secure Haussmann-era building with elevator. Furnished throughout with high quality pieces, Rue de Castellane features a wonderful mix of traditional elements and modern design. With over 1075 square feet, guests will find it pleasurable to gather together for meals or down time, or have private space when they need it.
Windows on both sides of the apartment allow for a gentle cross breeze and great natural light. The dining room is especially bright and airy, with large street-facing windows at rooftop level allowing for pretty views of local rooftops and elegant monuments on the horizon. Guests will enjoy preparing meals in the adjacent kitchen, equipped with modern appliances including an American style refrigerator/freezer, vitroceramic cooktop, combination microwave/traditional oven, dishwasher, and a good range of smaller appliances, utensils and cookware.
Comfortable and subdued, the sitting room has classic full-height wood wainscoting and dark hardwood floors. A large desk with a Mac computer is provided, as well as two armchairs and a brick-colored Pascal Mourgue sofa that doubles as a comfortable single bed. South facing windows look onto to an elegant garden courtyard below.
Located off the livingroom is a den that doubles as a bedroom. Furnishings include a plush new sofa bed, high quality BEO 6000 Stereo, and flat-screen television system. Windows in the room overlook Rue de Castellane.
The spacious master bedroom is located down the hall to the right. Queen size bed, separate sofa, and convenient built-in closets. Stacked washer/dryer system is enclosed in one of the closets. Across the hall is an elegant bathroom with a full tub with hand-held shower, separate shower stall, washbasin, and toilet.
A separate guest toilet with washbasin is found near the entry.
Nearby Attractions
Located in a 100-year-old building near La Madeleine church, the apartment is a 5-minute walk to the elegant shops on Rue St Honoré, and a less than 10-minute walk along Rue Royale, to Place de la Concorde, the Seine and its lovely bridges. The Champs-Elysées Avenue will be to your right when facing the river, Les Tuileries Garden and Le Louvre on your left. The spectacular Assemblée Nationale, Musée d’Orsay and Les Invalides Esplanade are across Pont de la Concorde.

Rue de Castellane was a lovely apartment in a wonderful setting. We loved having an extra WC! The location was outstanding-around the corner from the Madeleine Metro but also within walking distance of so much! It was a pleasure to return "home" at the end of the day.
