Description
On the corner of a trendy street in the Marais, this charming, updated one bedroom gives guests the experience of chic contemporary Paris, as well as the Paris of old, so well preserved in this historic area.
The 18th century building is entered from street. Three flights of stone and timber steps lead to the flat. On entering, guests will immediately notice the ancient exposed wood beams that indicate the apartment's history and serve to define the living and dining areas. Straight ahead is the kitchen, with a tall window overlooking the building's inner courtyard. Well lit, with beautifully tiled walls and pine cabinets, the kitchen is equipped with high-quality basic appliances: Sauter convection oven with halogen cooktop, new Siemens washing machine and medium-sized refrigerator. The dining area, seating four, segues into the living room, painted a pretty green to contrast with the warm, rich tones of the exposed wood joists and parquet floors. Double glazed windows are effective in minimizing the street noise below. The living room is furnished with a new sofa that converts to a double bed, two armchairs and a flat-screen cable TV.
The pleasant, cozy bedroom has a queen sized bed with a quality new mattress and good linens. Floor-to-ceiling drapes block exterior light when needed. Down the hall, the small bathroom has a stall shower and sink. Independent toilet.

The apartment was lovely. The stairs are a bit difficult because of uneven treads. The neighborhood is very nice with lots going on. Many good restaurants nearby and the market on Rue de Bretagne is fun. Thanks for a nice visit.
