Description
Located in a beautifully preserved "Hôtel Particulier" set in an interior courtyard, this quiet 430 sq. ft. apartment is on the French second floor, American third, up 52 timeworn stone steps. Decorated in a tasteful and simple manner, it features hardwood floors, exposed stone walls, and richly colored textiles that accent the antique and modern furnishings.
In the building's grand entrance hall, a winding old stone stairwell leads up to the entrance of the apartment. A small hallway opens into the main living area, furnished with a round table that seats four, an attractive leather pull-out couch, an ornately carved antique armoire, and a stereo system with CD and cassette player. Tall French windows overlook the wide courtyard below. The kitchen, located between the living room and the bedroom, benefits from an attractive remodel and is equipped with a quality four-burner ceramic cooktop, microwave, toaster, half-sized fridge, wood cabinets, and polished stone countertop. Just beyond is the bedroom, with a double bed and large closet.
At the other end of the apartment, the bathroom has a stall shower, pedestal sink, heated towel rack, and tile floor.

The location was ideal...very close to the river, shops and major attractions. Easy access to the Metro or could walk. It was helpful to have a list of local shops so that I could easily purchase cheese, bread etc.
