Description

With a prime location in the 6th arrondissement of Paris, this charming 540 sq. ft apartment, beautifully restored to current standards, offers a calm respite from a day of Parisian exploring.   The apartment, accessible by elevator, is on the American third floor of an 18th century building, and comfortably sleeps up to three adults, or two adults and two children.

Once inside, a spacious entryway leads down a short corridor to the kitchen and living room. An attractive antique wooden "guichet", or ticket counter, separates the two rooms, doubling as a sort of "passe plats" between the kitchen and the dining area. Cozy and bright, the living room is furnished with a sofa that folds out to a bed sleeping two, two armchairs and an antique wood chest that serves as a coffee table. A TV and stereo fit tidily in the corner.
In the pleasant adjacent dining area, there is a table that seats six.  Large windows let in plenty of light and overlook the courtyard below.
Making efficient use of its space,  the small kitchen, adorned with antique tiles,  is equipped with a full-size refrigerator/freezer, 4-burner ceramic cooktop, combination microwave/convection oven and dishwasher.

Just off the livingroom, the quiet, uncluttered bedroom is furnished with a chest of drawers, queen-sized bed and windows overlooking the courtyard. A built-in closet provides storage for your belongings.

The small bathroom, accentuated by a nautical-style sink with wooden cabinets and small tiled shower, has windows overlooking the rear courtyard. There is a washing machine and dryer in this room.  WC is independent.

Nearby Attractions

The 6th arrondissement is one of Paris' most beloved neighborhoods, home to the Jardin du Luxembourg as well as such cultural institutions as the École des Beaux-Arts and the Théâtre de l'Odéon.  The quartier St. Germain-des-Prés is ideal for strolling and people watching, with its bustling cafés, restaurants, unique shops and art house cinemas.  Several blocks south, the Rue du Cherche Midi, lined with food shops of all kinds, intersects with Boulevard du Montparnasse near the infamous Catacombs.  Here one may visit one of Hemingway's old haunts, La Closerie des Lilas, or the Paris Observatory, or simply stroll the tree-lined avenues of the Cemetary of Montparnasse. Visit the Sunday Marché Bio on Boulevard Raspail to pick up fresh produce for dinner.
