Description
Situated in a desirable residential neighborhood in central Paris, this comfortable 548 square foot apartment has a gracious ambiance fitting of its19th century Haussmann-style stone building. Up one flight of stairs, it features tall ceilings, crown moldings, parquet floors, and a marble fireplace. In excellent condition throughout, it includes a completely remodeled kitchen and bath.
To the left of the entry, the open living/dining room overlooks the narrow rue de l’Abbé Grégoire. This room is bright with light from two tall, arched French windows facing a narrow balcony with decorative wrought iron railing and views to the quiet street below. Furnished for comfort and ease, there is a sofa , an armchair, coffee tables, writing desk, bookshelf, and a small chest of drawers. Also located here is a computer with Internet access via cable and a printer. The dining table, located at one end of the room, seats up to six people. The separate kitchen is equipped with a gas cook-top, electric oven, microwave oven/grill, refrigerator, dishwasher, coffeemaker, toaster oven, and a complete set of dishes and cookware. For entertainment, there is a cable TV with channels in English and other languages, a VCR, and a stereo CD player with radio.
The apartment is arranged in two separate areas with the entry in the middle and the two bedrooms at one end facing a small, quiet courtyard. The master bedroom is furnished with a double bed, night table, a large armoire, linen closet, a chair with a reading lamp, and a table by the window. A small second bedroom has a bunk bed comfortably sleeping two.
The bathroom, accessed through the master bedroom, includes a shower stall, washbasin, cabinet, and a small washer/dryer. The toilet is conveniently in a separate room directly off the hallway near the entry. Blankets, bed linens and towels are provided.
Nearby Attractions
Rue de Sèvres and Rue du Cherche Midi are lined with bakeries, pastry shops, butchers, greengrocers, caterers, wine merchants, cheese and chocolate emporia, as well as supermarkets, dry cleaners and Laundromats.
There are two open-air markets along Boulevard Raspail, between Rue de Sèvres and Rue de Rennes. One of them is a "Marche Biologique" featuring organic produce (des fruits et legumes "bio") on Sundays. Only two minutes away, La Grande Epicerie de Paris, in the Bon Marche store, offers the best food France has to offer as well as exotic foods from around the world.
There are a variety of restaurants from the healthy and affordable to the chic Brassérie Lutetia, the trendy l’Epi Dupin, or the classic French restaurant La Marlotte. Le Bon Marché department store is two blocks away, surrounded by scores of shops and boutiques in the St-Germain-des-Prés quarter.
The rue de Vaugirard leads directly to the Luxembourg Garden where you can enjoy the sun and stroll among the sculptures. A quiet park with children’s playground is three blocks from the apartment. Prominent landmarks within a mile include the national theater at Odéon, the churches of Saint Germain and Saint Sulpice, and the Paris Observatory.
Within a few block radius, there is the Louvre and Orsay museums, the Rodin Museum with sculpture garden, the Delacroix Museum, and the Cluny Museum with its fabulous medieval collection.

This apartment was wonderful. Its location cannot be beat. It is in a real neighborhood that has all local stores. Plus it is near Bon Marché, many upscale stores, and access to a major metro stop, plus several bus routes. The additional books and maps, especially the large one on the wall, were all very helpful.
