Description
Located in an upscale area near the American Embassy, with easy proximity to public gardens, world class museums, shopping and dining, this 750 square foot apartment is luxuriously appointed and furnished. Guests will enjoy returning along beautiful tree-lined boulevards to their comfortable and elegant Parisian home away from home.
The building is Haussmann era, with a tiny elevator bringing guests to the fifth floor unit. Classically Parisian, it has parquet floors throughout and French windows overlooking quiet rue de Cirque. The main room is open and inviting,with contiguous living, dining and kitchen areas. Spanning the wall at one end is the kitchen, fully renovated with gold painted cabinets, marble counters, mirrored backsplash, refrigerator, small cook top, electric oven, and dishwasher. The large dining table seats up to eight. The sitting area, facing a decorative fireplace, is furnished with a large gray sofa, Italianate writing desk, fireplace with large gold mirror, and six occasional chairs. Radio and CD player.
Two gracious bedrooms, one next to the entry and the other off the main room, are furnished with high quality, comfortable king-size beds, both of which can be easily separated into twins. The bedrooms are on the courtyard side. One of the bedrooms features an elegant claw foot bathtub at one end of the room surrounded by a marble wall and built-in closets with mirrored doors. The two bathrooms, each contiguous to one of the two bedrooms, feature a shower, toilet and bidet each. Both feature elegant tile, marble, and mirrors. One bath has a unique rounded gold sink cabinet with colorful mosaic tiled sink bowl. All linens provided.
There is a convenient washer and dryer in a separate laundry room on the sixth floor.
Nearby Attractions
This prestigious neighborhood has is known for its elegant public gardens, stately boulevards, and important monuments, government buildings and museums. From the apartment, you can walk less than a block to the Jardin des Champs-Elyseés with its fountains, flowerbeds, paths and pavilions, popular since the end of the 19th century. Across the Avenue des Champs-Elyseés, also in a park, is the Théâre du Rond Point featuring a variety of theater performances in a round theater that dates to Napoleon’s time. The newly restored 19th century exhibition hall, Le Grand Palais, is a gorgeous palace that combines a classical stone façade with Art Nouveau ironwork and a massive glass roof. Here you can see a wide variety of temporary exhibits and art shows.
Across Avenue Winston Churchill, Le Petit Palais houses the city of Paris' art collection, including ancient artifacts, rare manuscripts, and a variety of artworks among which is a fantastic collection of the Impressionist paintings. Following Avenue des Champs-Elyseés, the famous tree-lined boulevard, there are numerous shops and cafés to explore on the way to the Arc de Triomphe. At #2 Avenue Gabriel is the stately American Embassy.
Going east on Ave Gabriel from the apartment are the Place de la Concorde, the famous Jardin des Tuileries, and the Musée du Louvre. By crossing the impressive Art Nouveau bridge, Pont Alexandre III, you will be on the left bank, where you can walk directly to the famous golden domed church that houses Napoleon’s tomb.
