Description
Located in an upscale area near the American Embassy, with easy proximity to the great monuments of central Paris, this quiet 750 square foot apartment is a luxurious refuge from the bustle of the city. Guests will enjoy returning along boutique-lined streets and palatial government estates to their comfortable and elegant Parisian home away from home.
Located on a quiet street just off rue du Faubourg St. Honoré in the chic 8th arrondissement, the fifth-floor apartment is in a secure buildling, overlooking a flowered courtyard from one side and the street and Parisian rooftops on the other.
A tiny elevator bringing guests to the fifth floor unit, composed of two bedroom suites with ensuite baths, and a central living area with kitchen and dining. Elegant parquet floors throughout. The main room is spacious and inviting, with an oversized sofa, large flat-screen television/DVD player, wifi internet and phone with free long distance calls to the US. Furnishings are modern and comfortable. Large windows line the west facing wall, opening to a long balcony. Spanning the wall at one end is the kitchenette, renovated with gold painted cabinets, polished granite counters, mirrored backsplash, refrigerator, two burner cook top, full-sized electric oven, and dishwasher.
Dining table seats up to eight.
Two gracious bedrooms, one next to the entry and the other off the main room, are furnished with high quality, comfortable king-size beds, both of which can be easily separated into twins. Each bedroom overlooks the quiet central courtyard garden. The slightly larger master bedroom has an elegant claw foot bathtub and built-in closets.
Each of the ensuite bathrooms features an elegant pedestal sink, marble shower stall, and separate toilet/bidet room. Top quality bed and bath linens provided.
Combination washer/dryer is located in a separate laundry room on the sixth floor. Guests will be given a separate key for the laundry room.
Nearby Attractions
This prestigious neighborhood has is known for its elegant public gardens, stately boulevards, and important monuments, government buildings and museums. From the apartment, you can walk less than a block to the Jardin des Champs-Elyseés with its fountains, flowerbeds, paths and pavilions, popular since the end of the 19th century. Across the Avenue des Champs-Elyseés, also in a park, is the Théâre du Rond Point featuring a variety of theater performances in a round theater that dates to Napoleon’s time. The newly restored 19th century exhibition hall, Le Grand Palais, is a gorgeous palace that combines a classical stone façade with Art Nouveau ironwork and a massive glass roof. Here you can see a wide variety of temporary exhibits and art shows.
Across Avenue Winston Churchill, Le Petit Palais houses the city of Paris' art collection, including ancient artifacts, rare manuscripts, and a variety of artworks among which is a fantastic collection of the Impressionist paintings. Following Avenue des Champs-Elyseés, the famous tree-lined boulevard, there are numerous shops and cafés to explore on the way to the Arc de Triomphe. At #2 Avenue Gabriel is the stately American Embassy.
Going east on Avenue Gabriel from the apartment are the Place de la Concorde, the famous Jardin des Tuileries, and the Musée du Louvre. By crossing the impressive Art Nouveau bridge, Pont Alexandre III, you will be on the left bank, where you can walk directly to the famous golden domed church that houses Napoleon’s tomb.
