The Marais district is a bustling area with many trendy shops, specialty food stores, cafés, galleries, antique shops and historic buildings. From the apartment, the Picasso Museum is a four block walk and the Pompidou Center is two blocks in the opposite direction.  If shopping is your love, the cutting edge shops in the rue des Franc Bourgeois areat the next corner.  Les Halles shopping district is across rue Beaubourg. On rue Rambuteau, a two minute walk, all the food Paris is famous for can be found in a single block; a boulanger artisanal for your bread and pastries, traiteurs for those amazing sausages and patés; and one of the few remaining poissoniers features fresh fish and oysters.  There is also a great wine shop and a quality chocolaterie, right in the neighborhood.
Thanks so much for an absolutely wonderful stay in the Marais District. Two blocks from the Pompidou and great restaurants, a metro station nearby and a ten minute walk to Notre Dame, incroyable! C'était magnifique. J'adore la France!

Rue du Temple, Paris, felt like home. We had a flawless two week trip. We rented this apartment through France Homestyle. They provided excellent service before and after we arrived. Our contact person, Catherine, available anytime we called, made our trip stress free. The 1700's building is charming and updated. The apartment overlooks a lovely garden area, Although there is no elevator the stairs to the 3rd floor were not a problem. We were able to walk to all the major museums and sites including a two block walk to the Pompidou and a short walk to Notre-Dame, the Louvre and really everything else. The sense of neighborhood was great. We had French lessons from our favorite boulangerie, met locals at a café every morning. It made us feel part of the city rather than tourists.
