Description
This attractive villa is on the outskirts of the spellbinding old village of Lourmarin. Peaceful and private, the two-story house, ca. 1,300 sq. ft., is surrounded by a charming country garden with a shallow pool perfect for children and also enjoyed by adults. Two patios open to both the living room and kitchen, each with a different orientation giving one a choice of sun or shade according to the time of day. Picturesque lanes leading to the center of Lourmarin are perfect for a pleasant, short walk.
The first floor of the house has a comfortable living room with tiled floor, fireplace, handsome French country period pieces, sofa bed sleeping two, TV, radio, CD and tape player. The kitchen is equipped with a four burner cook top, conventional electric oven, dishwasher and refrigerator/freezer. Also on this floor, one bedroom has twin beds and a private bath with sink and a shower with massage jets. Separate toilet off the hallway. The second bedroom has twin beds and a private shower room with sink and a separate toilet. This second bedroom is accessed directly from the grounds. Featuring a separate kitchenette with four gas burners, toaster oven, microwave, and washing machine, it can serve as a summer kitchen.
On the second floor, bedroom three has a double bed and a large closet. It is next to a spacious tiled bathroom with tub and hand held shower, washbasin, and toilet.
Nearby Attractions
Located at the foot of the Lubéron hills, the home is a half hour drive to Aix-en-Provence. The village of Lourmarin bears the official title "Un des Plus Beaux Villages de France"; it is indeed one of the most beautiful small towns in the country, bathed in soft golden light. A pleasant half-mile walk brings you to the village’s old houses, shops, galleries, restaurants, excellent boulangerie and outdoor market.
This southern part of the Lubéron is easy to reach from Aix and the freeway.
