St. Didier, population 5,000, has several small stores and good facilities. It is on the edge of Lyon city limits in a safe and desirable community on the west side of the city in the hills above the Saône. Hiking trails. Bus stop near the house. Lyon, on the banks of the Rhône and Saône rivers, is the second largest urban area in France. Famous for its food, Lyon is also known for its excellent universities, hospitals, industrial activities. It has been called the Chicago of France. Its many historical sites include two Roman amphitheaters built in 15 BC and still in use; the old quarter with its many restored Renaissance mansions, and several interesting, some of them unusual museums.
