Description
Built into the rocky outcroppings overlooking the sea, this turn of the century villa offers panoramic views of the Mediterranean and a pleasant mild climate year-round.
The entrance hall is on the top floor with a stone staircase leading down to the sitting room, kitchen, and beautifully planted, furnished terrace with stunning views. On the lower floor, the elegant open living room/dining room has French doors to the terrace. The carved stone fireplace, Oriental carpets, sofa bed that can sleep two extra guests, lamps, accessories, and round dining table seating six comprise this tastefully appointed room. The fully equipped kitchen features gas cook top with copper hood, stone slab counters with decorative tile backsplash, blue cabinets, dishwasher, washing machine (no dryer), and refrigerator/freezer. The full Provençal-style bathroom on this floor has a large sink, bathtub with wall mounted shower, bidet and separate toilet room next door.
Located on the entry floor, the villa’s bright and spacious three bedrooms each sleep two people. Two of the bedrooms have twin beds that can be used together to create a king size bed. The third bedroom has a double bed. The bathroom on this floor has a large sink, tub with wall mounted shower, toilet and bidet.
Nearby Attractions
Situated at the foot of the medieval village of Roquebrune between Nice and the Italian border, the villa offers proximity to the glamour and nightlife of Monaco, the beaches of Cap Martin, and the fabulous views and atmosphere of the famous perched villages of Roquebrune and Eze. A five minute walk up the steps opposite the villa takes you to the old village of Roquebrune, with seven restaurants, some of the best in the area, a chateau dating from the 10th century, and an impressively large 1000 year old olive tree. Shopping in the Italian markets of Bordighera, Ventimiglia and San Remo is ten minutes away. Scenic views abound on the three winding corniche roads that follow the dramatic contours of the coastal cliffs. The Grande Corniche, the highest, has hairpin curves and spectacular views. Cross the border into Italy and experience the great markets in San Reno, Bordighera, and Ventimiglia where vendors ofer everything from fresh-roasted chestnuts to luxury furs, cashmere, and designer knock-offs.
