Description
Situated in a charming hilltop village in Southwest France, this attractive home was originally a blacksmith compound. Its exact age is uncertain, but a forge existed on the site in 1337. Today, La Forge is transformed into a comfortable home with five bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The master bedroom, with a king-size bed, ample storage, and a connecting bathroom with large walk-in shower, bathtub, two hand sinks and toilet, is located on the ground floor. Four upstairs bedrooms share a shower, toilet and sink. Three bedrooms have queen-size beds and one bedroom has three single beds. There are sofa beds in the living room and kitchen. Every room in La Forge has electric heat.
The large dining room and fully equipped kitchen share a traditional country fireplace. The kitchen is generously equipped with dishwasher, dryer and washing machine, cooking pots and pans, dishes, silverware, wine glasses, appliances, linens and regional cookbooks.
The living room is furnished with antiques and a TV and video player. Central to the room is the large open fireplace situated where the original forge stood. Double doors lead to the courtyard. The enclosed courtyard has roses, wisteria and other flowering plants. A hot tub offers a perfect way to relax after a day of sightseeing.
