Newly renovated and styled with hand-picked Parisian antiques, the apartment features classic detailing, such as original Parquet floors, alongside modern amenities. Entering the flat, you'll find the elegant living room to the right.  French windows let in plenty of light, opening onto a private balcony that offers panoramic views of the Montmartre, including the magnificent Arc de Triomphe and Les Invalides.

Furnishings in the living room include a comfortable new sofa bed, vintage leather armchairs, daybed, and dining table to seat four.   A desk with a Mac Mini computer is provided for guests' use, and wireless internet access is available for those who bring their own laptop; there is also a flat-screen TV with cable channels and DVD player, and a large selection of books for your perusal.

Across the hall is the fully equipped kitchen, painted a cheerful blue; it includes a breakfast bar to seat two, flat electric cooktop stove and full-sized oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer and all the necessary cookware, appliances and utensils to prepare great meals.  Windows in the kitchen overlook a quiet, shaded courtyard; when the weather permits, you might take lunch down there for an impromptu picnic.

Sharing a wall with the kitchen, the bedroom also overlooks the courtyard, lending a sense of peace and privacy to the room; furnishings include a queen bed, antique chest of drawers, and armoire.

Next door, the lovely and fully modernized bathroom features a smooth stone floor, beautiful tiled walls and a walk-in shower separated by a glass partition.

This 19th-century apartment building is located in the heart of the vibrant Montmartre neighborhood, recently made popular by the film Amélie Poulain, though a hub for artists and liberals for the past two centuries.  You will love strolling the old cobblestone streets on the hilltop of Butte Montmartre (particularly for those who desire a little stairclimbing exercise!)

Among the sights to see, the Sacré Coeur Basilica, perched on the highest point in Paris, offers a spectacular panoramic view of the city.  Testaments to Montmartre's legacy of creative luminaries include the Bateau Lavoir, Picasso's first studio, the cabaret Au Lapin Agile, and the homes of Pierre-Auguste-Renoir, Toulouse-Lautrec and Van Gogh. Notable museums include the Espace Dali, Montmartre Museum, and the Museum of Jewish Art.  Walk through the Cimetière du Montmartre to view the resting place of François Truffaut, Emile Zola and Waslaw Nijinski, among other greats.  You'll also want to see the last remaining vineyard in Paris, perched on the lovely northern slope across from Au Lapin Agile.

For grocery shopping, the Rue Lepic market from Blvd du Clichy to the Place du Tertre, has a great selection of cheeses, meats and boulangeries.  There are good restaurants tucked away in the Montmartre; contact your France Homestyle representative for suggestions off the beaten path!
