This cozy 645 sq. foot apartment offers rustic charm with modern amenities, providing a tasteful and functional space in which to relax and entertain during your sojourn in Paris.  The flat is warm and inviting throughout; soft  contemporary colors provide a pleasant backdrop for the hardwood floors and exposed beams. Across from the imposing Archives Nationales building, the apartment is located in the heart of the vibrant culture of the Marais district, with numerous restaurants, cafés, shops and museum within arm's reach.

Located on the third floor of the building, accessible by elevator, the flat can sleep up to five. It includes a comfortable living room/dining room with an adjacent kitchen, one medium-sized bedroom and a very small one, recommended for children. The living room features hardwood parquet floors, two tall French windows, a classic Parisian mantelpiece and a large couch with hide-a-bed. An attractive farmhouse table forms a natural dining area between the living room and the kitchen. The open kitchen is inlaid with cream-colored tile and features ample counter space; quality appliances include a stainless-steel refrigerator, dishwasher, convection oven, 4- burner ceramic cooktop, coffee maker, toaster and washing machine.
In the master bedroom there is a king-sized bed and a tall French window. The room also features an oval-shaped bathtub, small sink, and a private adjacent toilet. Built-in shelves and closets provide plenty of storage space.  The petite second bedroom is perfect for two children, containing quite simply a bunk bed and tall French windows. New bedding and good linens enhance the comfort of each bedroom.  They both face the courtyard.
The sleek, narrow bathroom, with dark brown tile and clean new fixtures, includes a shower stall, heated towel rack/radiator, toilet, and side-by-side bowl sinks. The apartment was recently redone with state of the art plumbing.

With its elegant hôtels particuliers and trendy boutiques, restaurants, bars and galleries, Paris's third arrondissement plays host to many different cultures and lifestyles; here you will find no shortage of wonderful ways to stay busy.  A short walk around the corner is the fine Musée Picasso, housed in the 17th century Hôtel Salé and home to an impressively varied collection of the great master's works, as well as parts of his personal art collection (note: the Picasso museum is currently closed for renovation until 2012).  For lovers of history, the Musée Carnavalet, which traces the history of Paris through its collection of artifacts, possesses the country's most  important collection of objects from the French Revolution.   Enjoy strolling and sightseeing along the Rue des Rosiers, Rue des Francs Bourgeois and Place des Vosges.
Much of central Paris is in easy walking distance:  Centre Pompidou, Place de la Bastille, Île Saint Louis, Notre Dame and the Musée du Louvre are but a few of the classic monuments nearby.

General Location Map

This was the perfect property for our family: spacious, near shopping, cafés, bakeries. A short walk to Notre Dame, easy access to the metro. The perfect home base for our visit. Also, Catherine as the local representative was excellent!

This apartment worked out extremely well for our three generational family to spend the Christmas holidays in France. The location was especially good, including the "supermarché" right next door. Thank you.
