At the end of a private row of almond trees, cypress and pines, tucked away on three forested acres of green oaks, olive trees and vineyards, lays this stunning Provençal villa, an extraordinary locale for a dream getaway with your family and friends.

Owned and refurbished by an architect and his wife, an interior designer with an expert eye, along with a team of local artisan craftsmen, Eygalières Luxury has been featured in several popular international design and travel magazines as a beautiful example of the merging of Provençal wilderness with exquisite design, rugged simplicity with understated elegance. Stone walls, thatched tile roofs, quality natural textiles and elements such as zinc and ancient hardwood form the backdrop for the collection of superbly chosen antiques interspersed with designer pieces.

The grounds include a large main house with three bedrooms and two private guest houses, all encircling a sprawling inner courtyard with a large pool, a fountain, an outdoor dining room and extensive lounging space.

Indoors, the salon of the main house is both grand and welcoming.  Outfitted with a plush sofa and armchairs that face a monumental fireplace, the room connects the kitchen and dining room. High ceilings, a sweeping library and internal balconies provide a voluminous spaciousness; tall French windows open to views of the village to the south, and the Alpilles mountains to the north. In the huge open kitchen, you will be inspired to prepare, entertain and feast on the abundance of fresh Provençal produce and specialties that surround you. The large kitchen island, outstanding collection of table and cookware, double oven and six-burner gas range and a wide variety of quality appliances offer fantastic cooking possibilities, even for very large parties. The dining table seats up to fourteen.

Of the bedrooms, the first is located on the main floor and looks out to the garden and the village. This is the coolest room of the house in summertime, and its easy access makes it appropriate for those with mobility problems. Furnished with a queen sized bed, the room has its own bathroom with tub and separate toilet.
Upstairs, the bright and airy master bedroom features a large terrace with a view to the Alpilles mountains. With a king bed, sunny bathroom with clawfoot tub, shower and double sink, and separate toilet, this room is a haven unto itself. Down the hall, and accessible by the walkway hovering above the livingroom, is the unique second bedroom, with a balcony facing south to the garden and pool, as well as an internal balcony perched above the livingroom.  It has a queen bed, and the bathroom with tub and shower has a beautiful view of the village and Mont Ventoux.

Just steps away from the main house, but nestled in a grove of trees and very private, are two independant guest homes, or mazets, both with their own queen sized beds and bathrooms.  The first has a shaded terrace, near the forest and the pool, a bathroom with shower and toilet, and a properly equipped kitchenette.  A loft bedroom contains two single beds, excellent for children.  The second guest house has a sunny exposed terrace, queen bed, bathroom with shower and toilet, and mezzanine with two single beds.

The expansive outdoor area is as lovingly conceived as the house itself, comprised of a covered patio, stone fountain and large swimming pool (13m x 7m).  Dotted with lavender, thyme and  rosemary plants as well as cypress and olive trees, the grounds are simply intoxicating with the gentle perfumes of Provence.  There couldn't possibly be a more enjoyable place to enjoy breakfast on a sunny morning, or an afternoon of reading, swimming and socializing with your loved ones.

General Location Map

Our son said it best: "This week was magical". The house, the staff, the location, the sent of lavender and the sound of the cigales on a warm afternoon in Provence; it was an experience our family will treasure for years to come.

We created many memories for our children and grandchildren that will last beyond our lifetime. The pool was especially nice since it was very hot while we were there. We have pictures of the full moon above the pool framed with the shadows of the trees. The setting and the grounds are almost too beautiful to describe or photograph because they can't capture the smell or the sound of summer in Provence nor the complete joy of our children and grandchildren enjoying this moment in time. We feel so fortunate to have created this opportunity for our family to be together in such a perfect setting.

If I had a Mas in Provence...this would be it. Our family dreamed of coming back to this house. Fortunately, we were able to rent this property for the second time when the lavender was in full bloom. Heavenly!
