This spacious and peaceful vacation property in Dordogne is comprised of a farmhouse and a cottage-like "grange", providing exceptionally comfortable accommodations for parties of up to eighteen. Located deep in the pastoral wine country of southwestern France, the property is part of a tiny hamlet outside a larger village. The verdant and well-kept grounds feature a large pool and several outdoor patios for dining, relaxing, and taking in the quiet natural landscape. You will love experiencing the myriad pleasures of the Dordogne region.

Both the farmhouse and the grange buildings have been thoroughly renovated. Traditional elements such as massive wood beams, thick stone walls, and original tile floors create an appealingly rustic environment, enhanced by modern lighting and a refined interior décor. High-quality contemporary appliances and fixtures provide guests with a superior level of modern comfort and convenience. Several of the rooms feature views of the neighboring vineyards and sunflower fields. Each bedroom in the "grange" opens to an outdoor terrace.

Inside the farmhouse, a spacious country kitchen is equipped with teak and marble counters and includes a four-burner gas stove, full-size oven, dishwasher, generous counter space, and all the cookware you'll need to create meals with delicious local products.  The antique dining table seats up to eight. French doors open to a wisteria-covered tiled terrace, equipped with dining furniture for taking meals outdoors when the days and nights grow warm.

The second floor of the farmhouse consists of four comfortable bedrooms around a central sitting area. Each bedroom has an attractive ensuite bath with shower.  The cheery rooms are simply decorated; each is furnished with two twin beds that may be combined to form a queen.

In the fully restored 19th-century grange (French for "barn") building, there are four more bedrooms, two on either side of a central dining/kitchen area. Each bedroom in the grange opens directly onto the garden. The kitchen has been beautifully updated with high-end wood and stainless steel finishes and all new Gaggenau appliances.
  • Two fully equipped independent houses
  • En suite bathrooms for each of nine bedrooms
  • Private, rural location in Périgord wine country
  • Fully updated with modern amenities
  • Top-quality appliances
  • Three outdoor terraces
  • 10' x 20' Swimming Pool
The nearest village, Eymet, is a "bastide" or fortified town that dates back to the 12th century. A five-minute drive from the house, Eymet has grocery stores, restaurants and cafés,  an international newsstand, extraordinary 14th-century castle ruins, and a Thursday weekly market that's been going on since the year 1270!
This region is known as "Périgord Pourpre", or Purple Perigord, named so for its myriad vineyards and wineries. Visit one of the numerous local caves and châteaux to taste the prize-winning wines of Bergerac, and St. Emilion; a drive along the "route des vins" will take you past numerous picturesque villages and their wine estates. The 16th century Château de Monbazillac is particularly elegant, as is the sweet wine made there.

General Location Map

We had a wonderful time at the Dordogne farmhouse. It is located in the extreme south of the Périgord region, a nice 30 minute walk to the village of Eymet, known for its beautiful and typical “Bastide” town created in the 13th century. The farmhouse, grange and grounds are extremely spacious. Each in our group of 16 settled quickly and comfortably, with practically no argument, and there was even some spare room. Each bedroom has its own full bathroom, pleasantly decorated and ideally practical. There are 2 large kitchens, and plenty of seating outside and inside. Everything is clean and well maintained. The swimming pool was perfect for cooling off after a day of Périgord discovery, relaxing and taking in the serene and verdant landscape. The countryside is fabulous, hilly, green and sunny, home of some of the most stunning historical treasures and picturesque villages in France. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wholeheartedly recommend this property.
