This exceptionally elegant second-floor apartment overlooks a quiet garden. With 1600 square feet, floor-to-ceiling French windows, and lofty ceilings, the apartment offers both a sense of airy spaciousness and privacy.
Off the handsomely furnished entry is a grand living room with fireplace, built-in bookshelves, an entertainment center (TV, fax, stereo), two couches, a writing desk and a baby grand piano. Tall French doors brighten the room, opening to crescent-shaped balconies. The newly remodeled kitchen is well equipped, with an eating counter, dishwasher, double sink, refrigerator/freezer, high quality gas stove with convection oven, microwave, washer and dryer.
Elegant dining area seats six.

Each bedroom has a fireplace, a closet, and either a queen or two full size beds side by side. One has a small en suite bath with tub and wall hung shower; the other has a larger tub with wall-hung shower. In between the two bedrooms is an independent WC.

Once famous for its arty, Bohemian pre-WWII community, the Montparnasse neighborhood remains young and trendy. The apartment building is located near two of the most famous cafés of Paris, "La Coupole" and "La Closerie des Lilas". The area includes a plethora of specialty shops, small cafés, reasonably priced restaurants, and movie theaters. Nearby Boulevard Raspail is a good area to take art classes or French classes at the Alliance Française, or shop for organic produce at the market ("marché bio") on Sunday mornings.
